Portrait of fashion designer Lacy Barry wearing her designed clothing. Photographer Mikael Kjellstrom
“I photographed Lacy with my 16-35mm lens and lit her with a small Canon 550EX flash on a lightstand.”
Back in early winter of 2004 I was covering a story in downtown Calgary for the Christmas Fund edition at the Calgary Herald. A reporter named Linda Slobodian and I spent a night with Marc Nault, a 46 year old man living in cardboard boxes, located by the 5th Street underpass by 9th Ave SW. Marc has been on the streets of Calgary for the last three years, and during that time been homeless.
These are a few of the photographs from the night. It was all photographed with a Canon D2000.

For the next week and a half I am out on a drilling rig in NW Alberta documenting and creating stock photographs.
Here is a short video featuring the photographs of the Stoneham Drilling Rig #8 as well time lapse photography of the rig.
Timelaps and still shot of work on a drilling rig in the Edson area, Alberta. December – January 2010-2011.
The photo session with the actors of the movie Sightings was rewarding.
With very little time I had to photograph four actors, most was photographed in natural light, but this photograph of Beau Bridges was lit with my Canon 550EX handheld. The flash had a small diffuser on it to soften the light.
This photograph was lit with an umbrella powered by a Canon 550EX on a small light stand on the subject right and one Canon550EX behind the subjects to create hairlight, all triggered by three PocketWizards during an summer evening in downtown Calgary.
